To work in the United States as a healthcare professional you must obtain a license to practice. To receive a license, you must pass the NCLEX RN exam. Additionally, an English Language Proficiency Exam may be necessary.
A permanent residency visa allows the holder to permanently reside and work in the United States. This visa is more commonly referred to as a Green Card.
We sponsor all healthcare professionals for a Permanent Residency (Green Card). Spouses and any unmarried children under the age of 21 will automatically be entitled to apply for a Green Card. All Green Card holders are are legally entitled to work in the United States.
We consider your skills, experience, needs, personality and goals and make the closest match possible with the facility. Both your wishes and the requirements of the hospital will be taken into consideration.
During the immigration process, a Turo Placement Specialist will discuss employment options with you. When a suitable match is identified, a telephone or video interview will take place between you and a representative of the hiring facility. If the interview is successful, Turo Healthcare will provide you with a job offer letter. We will then plan your employment start date and travel date.
It could take between 12-18 months form the time you are accepted to the Turo Healthcare program until you actually travel to the United States. This entails:
- 3-4 months to gain your transcripts, licensing validation, and English language testing
- Once transcripts, licensing validation and English language testing is submitted to the Credentialing Authority, it will take approximately 3 months to receive your approval to take the necessary licensure exam (during which time you will be studying for the exam)
- One month to receive your US license after passing the exam
- The remainder of the time will be spent waiting for your US Visa.
